Welcome to My Writing page where you can find out more about my published works and my works in progress.
My debut novel, Periodic Prison, is currently under consideration with a publisher, and I’m hopeful it will become my first traditionally published work. This novel is based on the Periodic Table of Elements. Imagine the Periodic Table as a prison - the boxes are cells and the elements are the inmates with behavioural problems! The full synopsis is available here where you can read more about this fun-filled chaotic Chemistry setting.
I also have another novel The History of Her which recently was successful in getting to the second round of the 2026 Bridport novel prize - this was a tremendous achievement as it meant my novel was in the top 5.5% of novel entrants so I am delighted with the reception it received in this prestigious literary competition. You can also see the synopsis for this one here as well, you will see it is completely different from Periodic Prison showing my versatility as a writer.
I write for younger readers too and have four children’s books available, each written to spark curiosity, warmth, and wonder in young readers. I believe strongly in the importance of encouraging children to read from an early age - stories can build confidence, nurture imagination, and help shape how young people understand both themselves and the world around them.
My poetry spans both place and people. Scotland’s Soul: A Poetic Journey (Volumes 1 and 2) celebrates the heart of Scotland - its landscape, culture, humour, habits, animals, architecture, languages, music and traditions - offering readers a warm, immersive portrait of a nation rich in character.
Alongside these, my collections Fragments of Diversity and Threads of Diversity explore the breadth of human experience. Varied in tone and theme, they range from playful to profound, inviting readers to wander freely through poems arranged alphabetically as a celebration of openness, inclusivity, and the unexpected connections that shape our lives.
I was successful in having poetry traditionally published in the 2026 anthology Salient Art of Complex Expressions, where all five of my submitted poems were selected for inclusion.
My self-published works are all available for purchase through Amazon – please take a look at my Amazon author page which you can find here.
Thank you for taking the time to explore my work - I’m excited to share these stories and poems with you.
